An Expert System is a user-friendly device for guiding a user through a series of questions to a conclusion. It lends itself well to both the traditional "20 questions" style of interrogation, or to a more free-form "Choose Your Own Adventure" style.
The DJSE Expert System allows you to create as many "event trees" as you require, and can be embedded in your website. Administrators can browse and edit the full event tree, and see statistics on user-routes through the tree, identifying at a glance information that is either most useful to the users, or that requires better publicity/presentation.
The user is guided through a series of "nodes" at each of which they are presented with a series of options. For example, you might want to direct able-bodied or disabled users to different service areas in your website. There is no limit to the depth of a tree, so if you need to filter out Mensa members with dyed hair, long fingers, and perfect teeth, a series of four questions will deliver them to the page that you have written specifically for their eyes.
The administrator can edit an Expert System event tree at any time - even while it is in use. The standard admin controls allow for editing plain text messages, and rely on the HTML/CSS formatting of the website to carry through to the Expert System presentation. For fine-grain control there is a built-in HTML WYSIWYG editor.
New Expert System event trees can be created at any time - there is no limit to the number of trees that can be created. The administrator can take a tree offline or online if required.
Event tree editing can be done on an ad hoc basis, by navigating to the required node and editing it, or adding/modifying its options. An expandable tree view provides an alternative way to edit.
The Expert System can be embedded into your website, either as a locally-run system, or as a remote application. Contact us for details.
